The brew is going great today.  The aromas of the wort mixing with the first hop charge are always amazing in the morning.  Today was especially fantastic with the later additions of lemon basil and lime basil!

On Wednesday we're brewing the Lemon Lime Basil Kölsch. Thanks @cartercreekgreens for all the lemon basil and lime basil!
Why basil? Most people don't know that basil has many of the same essential oils as hops. Basil is an amazing way to spice up a beer in conjunction with hops to create a unique hop flavor.  Cheers!

This Kölsch style ale is a quaffable summer beer with an obvious twist of lemon and lime. You'll enjoy drinking this one by the pool or anywhere you need refreshment!

Our good friends at Carter Creek Greens in Nashville have been growing loads of lemon basil and lime basil! Next week we will harvest the basil, and drive to D.C. to brew with our other good friends at Hellbender Brewing.  

The Lemon-Lime Basil Kölsch should be available in the Nashville area by mid-July.
