Franklin-based Garr’s Beer Co. is now offering packaged product in various Middle and East Tennessee retail establishments.
The craft beer company, which has its various beers brewed at the facility of Huntsville, Alabama-based Straight to Ale Brewing Co., is offering its Red Jam red ale in six-packs (pictured) in upwards of 60 retail establishments, according to Garr Schwartz, owner of the brewing company. It will be offered year-round.
Schwartz, who is using Nashville-based Lipman Brothers Inc. for distribution, said he is looking to...
...can upwards of at least five more beers in the near future. He is not disclosing the terms of his arrangements with Straight to Ale and Lipman Brothers.
“One of the best things about canning for people in the Bible Belt is that they don’t have to suffer the ‘walk of shame’ that occurs from clinking bottles being rolled out for trash collection at the curb — after a ‘very modest’ house party,” Schwartz.
Schwartz began offering his beers on tap in Nashville bars in July, with The Filling Station in 12South the first to carry the brews. He is known, in part, for having co-founded SoBro-based Tennessee Brew Works with Christian Spears. Schwartz left TBW in early 2015.
Schwartz said he is planning eventually to hire both full- and part-time employees.
